Kinstellar expands its Technology, Media and Telecoms (TMT) service line in the Czech Republic

April 2022 – Kinstellar is pleased to announce that Petr Bratský has joined the firm’s Prague office as Head of the local TMT sector and service line. His addition to the firm strengthens our expertise in the TMT area.

Petr is an expert in IP/IT/Media and Telecommunications. Before joining Kinstellar, Petr worked more than five years at the leading Czech law firm Havel & Partners. In his practice, he focuses primarily on technology, intellectual property, media and film law and legislative advice. Petr also provides strategic and ad hoc compliance advice on the handling of personal data in various commercial sectors.

His expertise includes advising major local and international clients from across different industries in connection with the preparation and negotiation of a variety of complex commercial agreements related to technologies. He also has significant experience in the field of media and film law, representing world major production companies in all stages of film production, including the provision of legal advice in relation to film incentives scheme. Petr has also successfully handled complex compliance projects in the area of personal data protection and whistleblowing (including multi-jurisdictional projects) and has conducted compliance trainings for top management. In the field of legislative advice, he acted, for instance, as legal advisor in relation to the revision of the Audiovisual Media Services Directive and has advised on the development of new legislation in relation to free access to binding technical standards.

Lukáš Ševčík, Managing Partner of Kinstellar’s Prague office comments: “We are convinced that Petr will be a great asset to our TMT team and his drive and enthusiasm will help to successfully develop the whole sector also internationally. We see great potential mainly in the technology area and believe that Petr will help us achieve our firm-wide ambition of becoming a leader also in this area.”
Petr Bratský comments on his appointment: “I am very pleased to have been given the opportunity to further develop the TMT practice at Kinstellar. Rapid technological progress and advancing digitalisation are factors that have fundamentally influenced the development of the legal services market in recent years. Clients in all industries now actively require lawyers with technology expertise, whether this relates to ad hoc advice in the day-to-day running of the business or in the context of strategic or transactional advice. Kinstellar has been aware of this from the outset, and I am delighted to expand its team.”

Petr graduated from the Faculty of Law at Charles University in Prague in 2012 and holds an LL.M. degree from KU Leuven, where he graduated cum laude. He is a member of the expert Section for EU Law, International Law and International Relations of the Czech Bar Association.
