June 2020 – Kinstellar is delighted to be recognised at the LMG European Life Sciences Awards 2020 for its outstanding work across the industry. The annual awards are presented to firms, individuals and companies behind the most innovative and challenging Life Sciences work of the past year, as well as those driving the international market.

Our Life Sciences & Healthcare team was honoured for its diverse legal experience, market insights and understanding across jurisdictions and practice areas.

At this year’s awards Kinstellar was shortlisted in the following categories:

Eszter Takacsi-Nagy, Special Counsel in our Budapest office, was named Regulatory Rising Star. Eszter has more than 12 years of experience in the sector and boasts an in-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare and medical devices sectors and the related regulatory environment. As part of her career development, Eszter also gained valuable insights during her secondment to Pfizer Hungary. Eszter also advises on competition and state aid matters and has leveraged this experience to deliver a broader, multi-faceted offering to the firm’s life sciences clients.

  • STADA Arzneimittel on the acquisition of Walmark, a leading manufacturer of consumer health products in Central Europe from Mid Europa Partners, in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia.
  • Neuraxpharm Group, a leading European specialty pharmaceutical company, part of the APAX portfolio group of companies, on the acquisition of Farmax, a CNS-specialty pharmaceutical company in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
  • CSL Behring, leading biotechnology company, on various regulatory issues in CEE, including the set up of distribution operations in the Czech Republic or reimbursement issues in Bulgaria.
  • Omega Pharma, part of Perrigo group, on various corporate, contractual, regulatory and advertising issues in a number of CEE countries.
  • Canopy Growth, a world-leading diversified cannabis and hemp company, on the acquisition of the largest Czech medical cannabis company, Annabis Medical.
  • AEGLE, an innovative project funded by the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 that focuses on improving healthcare in Europe by utilising big data analytics and establishing a platform for medical practitioners, researchers and policymakers.
  • TEVA, the world’s largest generic drug company by sales, on the Bulgarian, Czech, Hungarian and Slovak aspects of its USD 40.5 billion global acquisition of Actavis Generics, the generics division of Allergan.
