Kinstellar, with Noerr as lead counsel, advises STRABAG on the Romanian, Croatian, Czech, and Montenegrin law aspects of its acquisition of WTE Wassertechnik

June 2025 – Kinstellar is pleased to announce that, together with Noerr acting as lead counsel, it has advised STRABAG, one of Europe’s leading technology groups for construction services, on the Romanian, Croatian, Czech, and Montenegrin law aspects of its acquisition of WTE Wassertechnik, a provider of municipal and industrial water management solutions.

The transaction, valued at EUR 100 million, supports STRABAG’s Strategy 2030 and is expected to significantly expand its existing water technology capabilities into the field of integrated water management. Completion of the transaction is subject to regulatory and antitrust approvals. Following completion, the combined water technology business is expected to generate approximately EUR 400 million in annual output.

In Romania the team was led by Corporate Special Counsel Claudia Popescu, supported by Rena Saftencu, Cosmin Vasilescu, Mihai Stan, Andrada Popescu, Dana Sarbu, Ioana Criste, Raluca Botea, and Andreea Vladareanu on due diligence matters. Luiza Bedros and Marc Barabas advised on foreign direct investment and competition law aspects.

In Croatia the team included Edin Karakas and Kristina Marinov.

In the Czech Republic the team included Barbara Kusak and Michal Jandus.

In Montenegro the team included Mina Sreckovic and Jelisaveta Folic.

Noerr acted as lead counsel to STRABAG on this transaction and coordinated legal input across thirteen jurisdictions.
