June 2016 - Mykyta Nota, Managing Associate in our Kyiv office, spoke at the second Ukrainian Antitrust Forum, organised and hosted by the Yuridicheskaya Practika publishing house. The Forum, which took place on 10 June 2016, brought Kyiv’s business and legal community together with senior Ukrainian, EU and US officials as well as representatives of the EU’s competition authorities and other international organisations.
As a high-profile antitrust event in Ukraine, the Forum generated a vibrant discussion of international antitrust issues. As part of a panel discussion on the role of the courts in protecting competition, Mykyta Nota shared with the audience his expertise in the field of private enforcement of competition law.
Other speakers included Ukrainian government officials from the competition authority, the High Commercial Court and the Ministry of Justice. The participants discussed a number of essential antitrust issues relating to Ukraine, including new competition legislation; the efficiency of the state competition authority to protect competition; enforcement aspects of competition policy; and current trends on industry markets.
