Kinstellar hosts seminar in Kyiv on the new EU Data Regulation (GDPR)

October 2017 - On October 18th, Kinstellar held a business breakfast in Kyiv, Ukraine, on the impact of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). GDPR has extraterritorial reach and in certain instances applies to Ukrainian companies operating in EU member states.

The seminar aimed to help Ukrainian companies understand the implications of the GDPR and how to best prepare for the regulation when it comes into effect in May 2018.

The discussion tackled:

  • The impact of the new EU regulation on your business
  • What you should companies do if their online platform is accessed by the EU residents?
  • How the new regulation affects communication with the EU customers?
  • How to negotiate the IT outsourcing contracts from the new EU regulation perspective?
  • What a failure to comply with the new EU regulation may lead to?

Our presenters were our data protection experts Zdenek Kucera, Managing Associate and head of the TMT practice in our Prague office, and Andriy Nikiforov, Counsel in our Kyiv office.
