Usen Tastanbekov is a Junior Associate qualified in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, focusing on international arbitration, investor-state disputes, complex commercial litigation, and M&A transactions.

He represents both domestic and international clients in high-stakes disputes, including contract enforcement, construction claims, and the recognition of foreign arbitral awards. He has experience navigating treaty-based claims and multi-jurisdictional proceedings, and has appeared before courts in both Kazakhstan.

Notably, Usen acted for a foreign investor in a precedent-setting, multimillion-dollar case before the AIFC Court - demonstrating his ability to handle sophisticated cross-border disputes with strategic and procedural complexity.

In addition to his disputes work, Usen advises on M&A transactions, including due diligence, litigation risk assessment, and regulatory compliance. He notably contributed to the successful sale of a major bank in Kazakhstan, assisting with risk analysis and transaction structuring.
