Microsoft 365 Solutions Architect – Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, or Croatia (Remote-friendly)

We are looking for a senior M365 Solutions Architect to take technical ownership of a firm-wide cloud transformation programme at an international law firm with 500 to 1,000 professionals across 10+ offices, multiple jurisdictions, and continued growth.

The firm’s core productivity and endpoint platform comes first: the everyday tools the business relies on: email, endpoints, Teams, Defender, and more. From there, the programme expands into the firm’s financial, data, and reporting infrastructure, placing each onto best-in-class platforms, while in parallel designing and introducing AI-driven drafting and document management capabilities.

This is a permanent, in-house position with real authority, real trust, and direct influence on the firm’s technical direction. The pace is demanding, the expectations are high, and we need someone with deep hands-on experience who can lead from day one. In return: a rare professional challenge to architect and lead an entire enterprise transformation, from the M365 foundation outward, with full technical ownership.

In this position you will:

  • Design the M365 environment end to end: Exchange Online, Teams, Intune, Defender, SharePoint Online, Entra ID. Define tenant strategy, governance, licensing, and data residency across jurisdictions;
  • Architect security, identity, and data protection: conditional access, DLP, sensitivity labels, MFA, and compliance; sensitive client data, regulated jurisdictions;
  • Lead the migration from Citrix Virtual Desktops and on-premise infrastructure to a modern M365 workplace. Keep the firm running throughout the hybrid coexistence period;
  • Plan integration of a law-firm-specific cloud DMS with the M365 ecosystem. Prepare the platform for Power Platform and AI/Copilot readiness;
  • Take full technical ownership of every workstream: assess, design, document, and govern. Execution may involve external partners, but the design authority sits with you;
  • Shape the programme roadmap with the Group IT Director and the Programme Director. Coordinate external vendors, manage dependencies, and report progress to IT leadership;
  • Contribute to building the delivery team: help define roles, select people, and develop capability as the programme scales.

Key skills and experience required:

  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on enterprise IT experience, with at least 5 years in a dedicated M365 architecture role, designing and delivering environments at scale: Exchange Online, Teams, Intune, Defender, Entra ID, conditional access;
  • Deep M365 security and compliance knowledge: DLP, sensitivity labels, retention, information barriers;
  • Proven track record migrating enterprise environments from on-premise to cloud, and managing hybrid coexistence. PowerShell and automation experience is expected;
  • Citrix/VDI transition experience is a strong plus;
  • Strong architecture and documentation skills. Clear, structured designs for technical and non-technical audiences;
  • Self-driven and accountable. Takes ownership of the full delivery lifecycle without waiting for direction;
  • Confident communicator in English who translates technical complexity into clear language for firm leadership;
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Ideally, you hold several of the following Microsoft certifications: AZ-305, SC-100, MS-102, SC-400, SC-300, MD-102;
  • Experience in a law firm, professional services, or regulated environment is a significant advantage.
