June 2018 – Kinstellar has won the Deal of the Year award for Hungary and Serbia at the CEE Legal Matters awards ceremony, which was held in Prague on 6 June 2018. A two-tiered panel of leading lawyers from across the region selected winners for 17 different CEE jurisdictions. Kinstellar acted as Hungarian legal counsel to Berenberg, Erste Group, Citigroup and Renaissance Capital, as joint global coordinators and joint bookrunners for the initial public offering on the Budapest Stock Exchange of Waberer’s International, one of Europe’s largest long-haul transportation companies.
The team was led by Csilla Andrékó, Managing Partner of Kinstellar’s Budapest office, and Ákos Mátés-Lányi, Managing Associate and capital markets specialist.
Financing of Vetroelektrane – Cibuk windfarm, Serbia
Zajednička advokatska kancelarija Marić i Mujezinovć in cooperation with Kinstellar acted as local legal advisor to Vetroelektrane Balkana (WEBG) in connection with the EUR 300 million financing for the Čibuk 1 wind farm, the largest wind farm project to date in Serbia and Western Balkans, with capacity of 158 MW.
Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), a leading global investor in renewable energy projects, holds a 60% stake in Tesla Wind, which is the sole owner of WEBG. Masdar is wholly owned by Mubadala Investment Company (Mubadala) of Abu Dhabi.
Project lenders include the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and International Finance Corporation (IFC), which are joined by B lenders comprising Banca Intesa, Erste Bank, UniCredit, and The Green for Growth Fund.
