Kinstellar continues its Sofia expansion with the appointment of three senior lawyers
February 2020 – Kinstellar is pleased to announce that Atanas Mihaylov has joined its team in Sofia as Managing Associate and that Zornitsa Georgieva and Maya Medzhedelieva have joined as Senior Associates, further enabling the firm to manage complex, cross-border transactions and infrastructure projects.
Atanas Mihaylov has more than 17 years of experience as a senior legal and tax advisor on some of the country’s most notable infrastructure and real estate development projects as well as M&A transactions.
Atanas has advised infrastructure clients and international real estate developers on all aspects of their projects, including land acquisition, zoning, planning, engineering, procurement and construction, insurance, permitting, operational agreements, project finance and regulatory matters.
His transactional experience includes structuring real estate acquisitions and disposals and advising on the real estate, regulatory and tax aspects of share-purchase agreements, corporate reorganisations and joint ventures. He has also successfully advised clients on commercial litigation and arbitration matters. Prior to joining Kinstellar, Atanas worked for leading international law firms and in Ernst & Young Bulgaria.
Zornitsa Georgieva joins as a Senior Associate bringing ten years of experience in a top-tier international law firm focusing on corporate transactions. She has acted on both the sell and buy sides in M&A deals in sectors such as energy, financial institutions and TMT.
Zornitsa has assisted clients on corporate restructurings, joint ventures and equity financings, as well as on numerous legal aspects of their commercial operations in various areas such as real estate, retail and consumer products, and outsourcing. Her expertise also includes banking and capital markets regulations.
The appointment of Maya Medzhedelieva as a Senior Associate reinforces Kinstellar’s capabilities in corporate / M&A, banking and finance, and anti-money laundering. With over 15 years of experience, Maya has been involved in numerous acquisitions and financings in the real estate, TMT and banking sectors. Maya has gained valuable experience in fintech and is one of the first Bulgarian lawyers to advise on blockchain technology.
Maya joins Kinstellar after having worked for over seven years in a top Bulgarian law firm and as senior legal counsel in a large Bulgarian holding with diversified activities.
