Kinstellar advises Masdar on the acquisition of a 72-MW wind farm project in Montenegro
January 2019 – Kinstellar’s Belgrade team successfully acted as local counsel to Masdar, a global leader in renewable energy and sustainable urban development headquartered in Abu Dhabi, in connection with its acquisition of a 49% share in Krnovo Green Energy from a subsidiary of Akuo Energy. The target holds the operating licence for the 72-MW Krnovo wind-farm project in Montenegro.
Kinstellar worked with Shearman & Sterling which acted as the general counsel of Masdar in this transaction. Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton and Karanovic & Partners advised Akuo Energy, while Allen & Overy acted as general counsel for the lenders.
