Librarian/Local Information Officer – Prague

What will be your main responsibilities?

1. Library and know-how section management:

  • Acquisition of new books, sources and services;
  • Cataloguing of new books, articles / case law;
  • External know-how sources management (ASPI, Beck, EMIS, etc.);
  • Coordination of Prague students involvement;
  • Subscriptions;
  • Budget management, reporting and invoicing.

2. Research activities:

  • Media searches in EMIS and free resources on the Internet (current topics from the public and private sectors);
  • Legal topics;
  • Business development topics.

3. Daily press monitoring:

  • Legal, economic and political development

4. Training:

  • Local know-how induction for new colleagues and students (Portaro and how to use it, orientation in the library);
  • Preparation of guides and training documents;
  • Contact person for various requests from know-how area.

5. Cooperation with regional colleagues in the know how area

What skills and education you should have:

  • University education in the field of librarianship (already suitable for students), or high school professional librarianship with practice;
  • Experience with cataloguing in the Verbis library system;
  • Orientation in databases (ASPI, Beck online);
  • Very good level of computer skills (especially MS Office, Internet and search);
  • Orientation in the legal environment is an advantage;
  • Very good command of English (everyday use);
  • General social and economic overview;
  • Ability to manage priorities and time;
  • Responsibility;
  • Independence.
