Kinstellar advises international banking syndicate on the Republic of Uzbekistan’s debut Eurobond issue

February 2019 – Kinstellar has successfully advised an international banking syndicate comprised of JP Morgan, Citibank and Gazprombank in connection with a USD 1 billion Eurobond issue by the Republic of Uzbekistan—the country’s first-ever foray into international debt markets.

JP Morgan acted as global coordinator and joint bookrunner for the bond issue and placement, with Citibank and Gazprombank acting as joint lead managers and bookrunners.

Kinstellar is proud to be the legal team advising on this ground-breaking capital markets transaction, which has placed Uzbekistan firmly on the map of international investors. For Kinstellar, the deal represents the most high-profile assignment for its team in Tashkent since the launch of its office in the Uzbek capital in March 2018.

The Kinstellar team was led by Joel Benjamin (Managing Partner) and Muborak Kambarova (Counsel). Other team members included Maksim Grekov (Of Counsel), Kairat Baizakov (Of Counsel), Akmal Abdisamatov (Associate), and other lawyers.
