Kinstellar strengthens its regional finance team with appointment of reputed lawyer Denise R. Hamer as Special Counsel

September 2018 – Kinstellar, Emerging Europe and Central Asia’s leading independent law firm, is delighted to announce that Denise R. Hamer has joined the firm as Special Counsel. Denise will join forces with partners across the firm on the development of Kinstellar’s Finance, Private Equity, NPLs & Distressed Assets, Restructuring and related practices.

Denise is a New York qualified attorney with 30 years of experience. She has broad technical and geographical legal expertise and experience as both a general counsel and a private practice partner / managing partner in top-tier global financial institutions, investment funds, corporates (including listed companies), consultancies and law firms. Her practice extends to Private Equity/Buy and Sell Side Investment, Banking & Finance, Special Situations, Debt Restructuring, M&A, Non-Performing Loans (NPLs), and Real Estate, representing investors, creditors, and debtors.

A Russian-speaker, Denise also has experience working in Central Asia, where she opened the first office of an international law firm in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and in Russia, where she was managing partner of Arthur Andersen’s legal practice. Denise is a native English speaker and also speaks French, German and Spanish. She is admitted to the New York and Czech Bars and is a registered foreign lawyer qualified to practice in the UK.

Denise has been ranked in the CEE finance sector and the Legal 500 noted her as having “a wealth of financial experience”.

Denise holds a BA (cum laude) in English & Comparative Literature from Columbia University, New York, and a JD from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
