Kinstellar lawyers Denise Hamer and Andriy Nikiforov speak at NPL & Real Estate Investment Summit 2020 in Kyiv
March 2020 – On 26-27 February 2020, Denise Hamer, Special Counsel and Head of Asset Solutions C/SEE, and Andriy Nikiforov, Counsel and Head of Banking & Finance in Ukraine, spoke at the NPL & Real Estate Investment Summit 2020 organised by DDC Financial.
The event was a unique opportunity to network, gain insights and discuss the recent developments in the Ukrainian, CEE & Greek markets of distressed assets and real estate. The event brought together a number of leading debt buyers, debt servicers, private equity firms, banks, global investors, advisors and asset managers. Among the notable speakers at the summit were Kateryna Rozhkova, First Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine, Svitlana Rekrut, Managing Director at the Deposit Guarantee Fund of Ukraine and Ekaterina Solovova, Senior Banker at the EBRD.
Denise Hamer participated in the opening panel that offered an overview of the market and legal framework in Ukraine and CEE. Denise compared the trends across CEE different markets and shared her thoughts on the issues that are posing challenges for international investors.
Andriy Nikiforov spoke at the panel focused on restructuring and special situations. Andriy summarised the recent developments in the restructuring space in Ukraine for the audience and contributed to the discussion among the panellists on court-supervised restructurings, directors’ liability and other debt restructuring related matters across the region.
