Anthony O'Connor is a Partner in the Budapest office, the head of the firm-wide Corporate M&A practice as well as the head of the Private Equity sector. Anthony also leads the Hungarian Corporate M&A practice.

RECENT ENGAGEMENTS INCLUDE ADVISING

  • KBC GROUP (a Belgian universal multi-channel bank), as lead transaction counsel, on the EUR 610 million acquisition of the fourth biggest bank in Bulgaria, United Bulgarian Bank, and of the third biggest leasing company in Bulgaria, Interlease, from the National Bank of Greece
  • TEVA PHARMACEUTICALS (an Israeli-headquartered multinational pharmaceutical company listed on the NYSE) on its USD 40.5 billion takeover of the generics business of Allergan, a global pharmaceutical company focused on developing, manufacturing and commercializing branded pharmaceuticals, devices and biologic products
  • MET GROUP (a leading gas and electricity trader operating in South Eastern and Central Eastern Europe focusing on multi-commodity wholesale and trading) on its acquisition of the on the acquisition of Repower Furnizare, a company active in the field of electricity supply and trading in Romania since 2007, with an annual turnover of over EUR 100 million
  • LEADING MULTI-ASSET ALTERNATIVE INVESTMENT FIRM and A GLOBAL PRIVATE EQUITY FIRM on their joint bid to acquire a multinational brewing and beverage company
  • M7 REAL ESTATE (leading specialists in the pan-European, regional, multi-let real estate market) on the acquisition of:
    • an industrial warehouse located at Gödöllő, having a total area of 24,000 sqm and currently leased by three tenants to M7 Real Estate or one of its subsidiaries as purchaser
    • a portfolio of logistics real properties located in Hungary consisting 9 logistic parks on 25 real properties, with total leasable area of 152,000 sqm and in the Czech Republic from Valad (Cromwell Property Group)
    • Europolis Park Aerozone/Airport Business Park, a 65,000 sqm multi-tenanted logistics park located close to Budapest’s airport including conducting a due diligence and the preparation of the sale and purchase agreement
    • Liget Center, an 11,000 sqm office building located in Budapest, built between 1948-49 and classified as a heritage building
