December 2012 - Transparency International (TI) released its 2012 Corruption Perception Index (CPI) this week. The 2012 CPI surveys 176 countries and territories (seven fewer than last year).
November 2012 - On 29 November 2012, Kinstellar co-hosted a seminar on Compliance Risks and Cross-Border Investigations with Ernst & Young at Butchers’ Hall in London. The event drew around 60 participants from industry and US/UK law firms.
October 2012 – On 10 October 2012, Kinstellar hosted an introductory seminar at its Prague office to present a new client product for the Czech market: Know-how Support for In-house Lawyers.
4 September 2012 – Prague-based Kinstellar partner Kamil Blažek who is also the Chairman of the Association for Foreign Investment spoke at the “Czech and Polish Investment Potential” panel discussion of the Economic Forum in Krynica, Poland (also known as the Central European “Davos”), which focused on investment incentives provided to investors by the Czech and Polish Governments. The discussion highlighted the relative strengths which both economies enjoy in the global and European context, making them attractive destinations for foreign direct investment and foreign capital investment.
Prague, 27 June – Kinstellar Projects & Infrastructure Partner Kamil Blažek gave a presentation today at the European Nuclear Power Conference in London organised by Platts, the distinguished worldwide energy publishing house, on the topic of financing and structural considerations concerning the development of nuclear power plants in Emerging Europe.
June 2012 – Kinstellar is featured the June 2012 issue of Briefing, published by the Legal Support Network, as part of an in-depth article investigating the strategies of law firms in a changing and increasingly competitive legal market.
Prague, 30 May 2012 – Lukáš Ševčík, Managing Partner of the Prague office of Kinstellar, has been elected as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the British Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic. Kinstellar has been a patron of the British Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic and has participated in its functions and activities since 2005.
May 2012 – Kinstellar is pleased to announce that it has won the "Central and Eastern European Client Service Award" at the Chambers European “Awards for Excellence 2012” ceremony in Amsterdam on 10 May 2012.
The Lawyer, 16 April 2012 – A special Czech-Slovak supplement in The Lawyer contains an article highlighting recent changes to Czech legislation that are expected to have a positive impact on the local legal market. Among the recent changes, perhaps the most significant is the major overhaul of the Civil Code in late 2011. The new Code abolishes many holdovers from the Communist era and makes doing business in the Czech Republic much easier and more similar to Western Europe.
29 March 2012 – Kinstellar co-hosts the seminar “Corruption and Compliance and the Impact on Business in Central and Eastern Europe” in Berlin.
